A Line in the Sand

"Into each life, some rain, must fall/But too much has fallen in mine..." This year has been a carry over of the ass-kicking lesson in reality that 2009 was. Most of the country, the world is having a challenging time financially. Almost 10% unemployment in the USA. It is what it is.

At some point, we can't just let life happen to us. We need to fight back. Stand tall, draw the proverbial line in the sand. Will we instantly succeed? Probably not. Will things get miraculously better? No. Will it be a fight? Most likely, and a hard one. But there is something incredible, something truly liberating about saying "I will NOT go quietly into the night. I will NOT stand by and let life happen to me. Come what may, I will make my own destiny, be my own man".

Don't let life assail you with impunity. Things will happen, some of them will be bad, painful, hurtful. Accept life's slap in the face, stand up and get back in the fight.
